Web browsers, such as Google Chrome, help secure your personal settings by making them visible only you. Your Chrome favorites, or bookmarks, exist in a special folder that no one can see without being logged in to your Windows user account. Depending on your Windows setup, you may be able to view this folder and the file that contains your favorites or it may initially be hidden.
Google Chrome Profiles
Google Chrome can generate a unique profile for each person who uses the browser. Each profile maintains its own set of extensions, passwords, bookmarks and other settings. If two Chrome profiles exist, two sets of bookmarks exist. Even if nobody else uses your computer, you may still prefer to create multiple Google Chrome profiles. One profile, for example, might contain no extensions while another may hold a variety of extensions, plug-ins and bookmarks related to a particular topic.
Bookmarks Folder
Similar to the Documents folder that holds your personal document files, the AppData folder contains personal information that only you can see when you log in to your Windows account. Applications place personal information in folders that reside within the AppData folder. Find the folder that holds your Chrome bookmarks by navigating to the following folder in Windows Explorer:
C:UsersMy_Windows_AccountNameAppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser Data
Replace My_Windows_AccountName with the account name you use to log in to Windows. If you installed Windows on a drive other than “C,” replace “C” with that drive letter.
Hidden Folders
The User Data folder has a folder for each profile that you create in Chrome. If you only have one profile, that folder’s name is Default. If you have another profile, look for a folder whose name matches that profile’s name. If you cannot find the AppData folder, make that folder visible by typing Folder Options into the search box in the Start menu and pressing “Enter” to view the Folder Options window. After you click that window’s “View” tab, you can click “Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives” to make hidden files visible. Windows hides certain folders such as AppData by default.
Viewing Bookmarks File
Open the folder that contains your Chrome bookmarks file, scroll through the list of files and you'll find one named Bookmarks; that folder has no file extension. You will also see another file named Bookmarks.bak. This file contains backups of your regular bookmarks file. If you'd like to view the contents of the Bookmarks file, launch Notepad and press 'Ctrl-O' to display the Open window. You'll need to click the 'Text Documents (txt)' drop-down window and select 'All Files ()' so that Notepad displays all files in the file list. When you navigate to your bookmarks file and double-click it, Notepad will display its contents.

Does anyone know where Firefox is keeping the details about the bookmarks? For example, when I'm browsing the net and I see an interesting page but I don't have time to read it in that moment, I drag&drop it in bookmarks toolbar.
How does Firefox know which those pages are? I'm not talking about right_click->properties. I wish to know where on my HDD those links are kept.

Actually, Firefox stores your bookmarks in a file called 'places.sqlite' in the profile folder. The full path for that file is:
If you double click on 'bookmarks.html' which UK has pointed, you cannot see your recorded bookmarks in it. You can use

Firefox, just like any other modern web browser, supports bookmarks. You can save bookmarks, URLs that point to your favorite websites and services, or scripts and dynamic bookmarks, and manage them using the browser.
Bookmarks are saved to the browser in a number of ways. Firefox users may click on the star icon in the address bar to bookmark the page they are on, or use the shortcut Ctrl-D to bookmark the page instead.
Bookmarks can also be created from the Bookmarks library directly, or dragged and dropped on to the bookmarks toolbar.
Firefox saves all new bookmarks to Other Bookmarks by default unless you change the folder manually when you want the bookmark to be saved in a different folder.
There is no built-in option, as far as I know, to change the bookmarks folder. If you want to save bookmarks to another folder by default, e.g. a folder that is visible on the Bookmarks Toolbar or better named, you have to rely on extensions.
Default Bookmark Folder is a browser extension for Mozilla Firefox that adds an option to the browser to change the default bookmarks folder.
The extension displays a prompt after installation in Firefox to configure it. You can also click on the options button on about:addons instead to do so any time later.
Select Firefox built-in bookmark in the Default Bookmark Folder's options to get started.
There you may select a different folder that new bookmarks will be saved to. The extension lists all existing folders in the menu and you can select any of those. Note that you cannot create a new folder and need to do this in the Bookmarks library if you need to.
The extension's capabilities don't end there. You can flip a switch to add new bookmarks to the top of the folder when they are added instead of at the bottom which is the default in Firefox.
You can make the same modifications for the Bookmark all Tabs option of the Firefox browser. Just scroll down on the page and modify the default folder and sort order for bookmarks of the folder using built-in functionality or through add-ons.
Default Bookmark Folder comes with another new feature that you may find useful. It may add what it calls a quick bookmark icon and quick bookmark shortcut to Firefox.
The quick bookmark icon gets added to Firefox's address bar just next to the browser's native bookmarking icon. The main advantage of using it is that you can bookmark or remove bookmarks with just a click on the icon.
The same can be enabled for the Alt-Shift-D shortcut to run the same operations using the keyboard.
Options are provided to set a default folder for these bookmarks -- which can be different than the folder for adding Firefox bookmarks regularly -- and to change the order of appearance of new bookmarks.
Default Bookmark Folder supports three additional options for quick bookmarks. You can block the removal of bookmarks so that you can use the quick action to add bookmarks only.
